Wisco Taco Foxtrot – Whispiring Pines, NC

This week I tested some commercial restaurant shots on some shrimp tacos at Wisco Taco Foxtrot in Whispiring Pines. I have done a bit of work with them in the past, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with them in the future.

I wanted to start with an overhead shot with the dish coming in the bottom corner of the frame. The only lighting equipment I had was my on-camera flash with no way to remote fire, so I borrowed a white cutting board from the kitchen to bounce my flash for a larger and softer light profile.  

Then I wanted a closer photo to highlight the details of the dish. Grilled Cilantro Lime Tacos are a best seller at Wisco Taco Foxtrot, so I chose to capture the perfectly grilled shrimp, hand cut tomato, onion, cilantro, and house made chipotle creama. Served on warm tortillas on a tray with a side of fries, this combo meal is a perfect fix for those surf taco cravings. 

For the last picture, I pulled the camera back, changed the angle, and got a wider shot of the whole tray. While shrimp tacos themselves aren’t too rare, Wisco pulls them off very well. You can order them grilled or fried, with a choice of fries, slaw, chips and salsa, cheese curds, or a side salad. Paired with a signature cocktail or a beer on draft, this dish is an excellent choice for your next dinner.
